Title: ABU congratulates its alumni appointed into government positions

Ahmadu Bello University had sent congratulatory letters to its alumni appointed into key managerial positions in government. The first letter was sent to the newly appointed Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Mr. Danladi Irmiya Kifasi by the Directorate of Advancement on 19th of August, 2014.

The letter was signed by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Abdullahi Mustapha, on behalf of the governing council, management, staff and students of the Ahmadu Bello University, for the well-deserved appointment.

‘It was the exhibition of your dedication, determination, courage and zeal for excellence and success to duty which is synonymous with great ABUSITES that led to your attainment of the highest position in your chosen career’, the letter reads in part.

‘For us in ABU, we hope that as a former staff of this great University, you will continue to contribute in your capacities towards the development and progress of this institution and the country in general’, it also says.

Earlier, on 4th August, 2014, ABU Zaria sent a congratulatory message to the newly appointed Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Peugeot Automobile Nigeria Limited, Mallam Ibrahim Boyi.

In a letter which was signed by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Abdullahi Mustapha, on behalf of the council, management, staff and students, the University congratulated the new MD/CEO on the appointment.

‘Your appointment as the Managing Director and Chief Executive of the Peugeot is a confirmation of the Country’s recognition on your numerous contributions to development of this great country and the believe that you still have a lot to offer in terms of setting the policy direction that will bring about effective progress in the automobile industry in Nigeria.

‘For us in Ahmadu Bello University, the appointment will further boost the existing relationship between the University and the Automobile Industry with a view to improving the technology of the nation’, it says.

Earlier as well, the Ahmadu Bello University sent a letter of congratulation to the newly appointed Deputy Governor of Central Bank of Nigeria, Alhaji Suleman Barau. The letter was written on 20th of June, 2014 and signed by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Abdullahi Mustapha.

According to the letter, ‘the appointment has ignited the hope that financial institutions in Nigeria will be energized and revamped through your tactical guidelines and knowledge of the financial institutions. It is our hope that as an alumnus of this University, you will continue to contribute in all capacities towards the development and progress of both the Central Bank of Nigeria and this great University’.

Also, Ahmadu Bello University had sent another letter of congratulations to the newly appointed Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Dr Joseph Thlama Dawha. The letter was written on 4th of August, 2014 and signed by the Vice Chancellor, Professor Abdullahi Mustapha, on behalf of the council, management, staff and students of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

‘It was the exhibition of your dedication, courage and zeal for excellence and success to duty which is tantamount with ABU alumni that let your appointment into this highest position’ the letter reads. ‘While appreciating your effort, please accept our consideration of highest regards’, the letter also says.
