The Head of the Alumni Relations Unit is responsible for the building of   meaningful relationships with key stakeholders. The Unit shall initiate programmes and activities that are aimed at cultivating the university’s teaming alumni. The staff in this unit shall initiate a programme that would entail carrying along students while on campus to appreciate giving back to the institution as graduates.

 The Head, Alumni Relations Units reports directly to the Director on all activities and programmes relating to the unit. He supervises the programme Officer working with him in the unit.

 The roles of the Head, Alumni Relations Unit are:

  • Develop and Implement Strategies to build meaningful relationships with alumni and friends of ABU.
  • Identify senior alumni and friends of the university and engage them in activities on campus that reflect their status.
  • Communicate to alumni of the university the ethos and traditions of the university.
  • Working with Advancement Services Unit to develop srategies to find and engage lost alumni.
  • Engage current student and build the culture of alumni relations across the university  to ensure they remain part of the university community on graduation.
  • Work with current alumni branches that have been established across the university.
  • Working with the Alumni Association. Strategically build a network of alumni branches in key areas of importance to the university.

The unit is headed by Mal. Bashir Munir Abubakar (Alumni Relations Officer)
