The Advancement services unit is to provide behind the scene support for all areas including database management, potential donor research and financial recording and stewardship of gifts.

The Head, Advancement Services Unit is responsible for the management and provision of all prospect research activities. The Unit provides briefings including strategies for all major gift solicitation to other units of the Directorate. The Unit also provides on an ongoing basis, list of possible prospects for the consideration of all other units.

The Head, Advancement Services Units reports directly to the Director on all activities and programmes relating to the unit. He supervises the programme Officer working with him in the unit.

 The roles of the Head, Advancement Services Unit are:

  • Coordinates and provides the support system for major gift fundraising operations.
  • Provide overall direction for prospect research to assist the university in identifying, cultivating, and soliciting prospects working with with the Development team.
  • Develop and maintain a prospect tracking system for all prospects.
  • Organize and conduct research on individuals, corporations, and foundations identified as potential donors through prospect clearance and co-coordinating process.
  • Working with the alumni relations team to develop programmes to find lost alumni.
  • Maintain the strictest confidentiality of all records and research files
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Director
