Audu Innocent Ogbeh
Statesman and farmer who served Nigeria across four decades, most recently as Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development.
Their work
Audu Ogbeh entered national office in the Second Republic as a young Minister of Communications, and later chaired one of Nigeria’s major political parties from 2001 to 2005.
A committed farmer, he returned to the federal cabinet as Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development from 2015 to 2019, championing domestic production and agricultural self-reliance.
Their ABU connection
Ogbeh studied at Ahmadu Bello University between 1969 and 1972 and remained a lifelong advocate of the North’s great educational institutions.
