Nuhu Ribadu

The pioneer chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission and Nigeria’s National Security Adviser.

Their work

A lawyer and career police officer, Nuhu Ribadu built the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission from its founding in 2003 into Nigeria’s most prominent anti-corruption institution, leading landmark prosecutions of high-level financial crime.

He was appointed National Security Adviser to the President in 2023, returning to the centre of Nigeria’s security and law-enforcement architecture.

Their ABU connection

Ribadu read law at Ahmadu Bello University, taking his LL.B. in 1983 before completing an LL.M., and began the legal career that carried him into the Nigeria Police Force and national service.
