Sarah Jibril
Psychologist and politician who became the first Nigerian woman to seek the presidency.
Their work
Sarah Jibril broke Nigeria’s hardest political ceiling: in 1992 she became the first woman to contest for the presidency, and she returned to the contest in 1998, 2003 and 2011.
She later served as Special Adviser to the President on Ethics and Values, and remains a matriarch of women’s participation in Nigerian public life.
